Privacy Policy

This is a working draft, kept intentionally short and in plain language. It covers what we collect through this website and why.

Last updated: 23 October 2026. This page is a work-in-progress draft — sections marked [TO BE COMPLETED] will be filled in as the initiative formalizes, and we recommend a final legal review before this text is treated as definitive.

Who operates this website

GlobalAIRules is currently run informally by its founder, not yet through a registered non-profit association. [TO BE COMPLETED — operator's name/legal form and contact address, to be added once the initiative is formally registered.] Until then, the contact address below is the way to reach us about any privacy question.

What we collect and why

  • When you sign the Declaration: full name, email address, and — if you choose to provide them — country and profession/organization. We also record whether you agreed to appear publicly on the list of signatories and whether you opted in to occasional email updates, plus your IP address and a timestamp, used to prevent abuse and duplicate signatures.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3: the Declaration form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which analyzes your interaction with the page (and may use a cookie and your IP address) to tell humans from bots. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy and terms of service.
  • Technical/session data: a session cookie used only to remember your language choice and form state — no analytics or advertising cookies are used on this site.

Legal basis and purpose

We process your data based on your explicit consent, given via the checkbox on the Declaration form. The data is used to: verify and record your signature, contact you about the confirmation link, count you (anonymously, unless you opted in to public display) toward the total number of signatories, and — only if you opted in — send you occasional updates about the initiative.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data passes through our email delivery mailbox (hosted by our web host) to send you the confirmation email, and through Google reCAPTCHA as described above. We use no other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

How long we keep it

[TO BE COMPLETED — retention period for signature records once a formal data-retention policy is adopted.] Until then, signatures are kept as long as the Declaration campaign is active, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time (see your rights below).

Your rights

Under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal), and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
